Visual Music
A collection of animations exploring abstraction and visual music concepts. While pursuing the Master of Fine Arts program, I discovered Oskar Fischinger’s work, which explores abstract musical animations. It motivated me to explore ways to represent music in a visual form through abstraction. Some of the animations that I created for my MFA were also shown at SIGGRAPH 2004: Synesthesia and SIGGRAPH 2005: Threading Time. It motivated me to learn music. I wondered what an artist can create when they are both the creator of music and the creator of visual animation based on their music. Syncopated Illusion is one such animation.
